About Kate
My name is Kate Mason, and I live in Weymouth, Dorset. If you need swimming lessons or open water coaching, don't hesitate to contact me; I will be pleased to help you.
I started my swimming career by being taken to the beach and given an old car inner tube as my swimming aid! I didn't swim as a child in a swimming club but was always involved in other sports representing my school and the county.
Later in life, I qualified as a General Nurse and then registered Midwife, so swimming was low on the list of activities. After having my family, I finally started swimming to get fit in my early thirties. I got involved with a local swimming club, helping out, swimming myself and eventually becoming one of the coaches.
My first introduction to sea swimming was participating in the Portland Harbour Swim, which Portland Dolphins organised. In 1996 I organised a six-person charity English Channel.

YMCA Personal Trainer, specialising in GP Referral, cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation and clients with long-term neurological conditions. I also run specialist exercise classes at Osprey Leisure Centre on Portland.
